I realized at a semi-young age that I was into putting together outfits and expressing myself through clothing. It wasn't just the fun of picking out clothes for me. It was the garments themselves. The way a dress swings when you walk making you feel like a million bucks, the softness of a sweater that feels like home, or a leather jacket so soft and broken in that you can sleep in it while still looking like a total bad ass. It was the clothing and how they made me feel, and it still is. Style is you, but on the outside. It's an extension of your thoughts, feelings, and attitude, and this site is me.

When I started Black in Bloom, I really did it to document my style growth and to challenge myself. I wanted to see how many different ways I could style one piece, and get myself to wear the copious amounts of clothing in my closet that I rarely touched. I quickly fell in love with style blogging and I will never look back. Thanks to all of you who give me feedback and love fashion as much as I do, you guys make it all worth it.  I only hope that along the way, my challenges keep coming and my inspiration grows stronger. This is my creative outlet, my place of expression, and a reminder that when all else fails, there will always be fashion. 

As of now, I reside in CT and I live in a cozy apartment with my boyfriend, Michael. When I'm not daydreaming about fashion, I usually have my face in a book or am slaving away over homework. I'm studying business and fashion merchandising, soaking in all of the knowledge I can. I have big plans and dreams for myself which I am determined to make a reality, but in the mean time, I'll be here, posting about my love and passion for style.
