BLAKE LIVELY TO PRESERVE AMERICAN ARTISANS

posted on: Thursday, September 11, 2014

Vogue's August 2014 issue took me by surprise when I saw a very southwestern Blake Lively on the cover. While reading this spread on the Hollywood star, I found out that she recently launched a lifestyle website called Preserve.

The site aims to "preserve" American craftsmanship and high quality hand made items. This idea really resonates with me since I would love to see American business and goods being created in our country. Through social media I've been able to follow and find people who are creating and making goods in the US and are selling them on small scale. However, I found it very interesting that a celebrity feels the same way and is doing something about it.

On the site you can browse and shop for a wide variety of goods. From candles, to clothing, to pottery there's an array of items. The best part is that it's all crafted and created by artisans in the USA.

While browsing the site you feel a sense of nostalgia and yearning to support or even create.

Since it is a fairly new site I hope that Lively keeps adding more sellers and artists! For now, check out what she's started and read some of the Editor's notes.

Here are some products from the site that stuck out to me!:

In addition to some of the products on Lively's website, I couldn't help sharing some pictures from her Vogue spread. These shots and outfits are breath taking! Enjoy :)
