EXPLORING HOME TOWNS

posted on: Saturday, August 30, 2014

I've been so busy trying to get ready to go back to school while also enjoying the last of summer. It felt so great to have an afternoon to shoot some photos and get a post up! I love the interest this outfit provokes and the fact that it's made up of fairly old pieces that I made feel new again. That's one of my favorite feelings!

FIELDS OF GOLD

Yesterday was the simplest of outfit days: white tee, Danny's flannel, and some jeans that acquired holes over the past seven years. I'd like to say that Sundays are the best for hanging around in our old favorites. Not to mention Danny and I are restoring his grandfather's old dental desk so I wanted to be comfy while scrubbing and preparing the desk for its next coat of paint. I'm really excited about that project and will have to post details sometime soon! I hope all of you Bloomers have a great start to your week :)

Outfit Details:

Flannel- L.L. Bean (similar)
Shirt- Mouchette (similar)
Belt- Urban Outfitters (similar)
Pants- Urban Outfitters (similar)
Shoes- Ecote (similar)

FLASH BACK FRIDAY: STYLE EDITION

posted on: Friday, January 31, 2014

In honor of this Friday, I decided to bring you back to the style of the 90's. It's definitely clear that trends come around and back again. It's fun to look back and see how some of these trends have made come backs within the last few years. I've brought them back in my style today without even realizing. Check out these slightly embarrassing but funny "Then and Now"photos.

Flannels and hats. I even have my little smirk goin'.

Florals and denim. Featuring one of my best friends Nicole!

And......there's also this photo:

Half denim skater dress with an embroidered sunflower? Yes please!

If you guys have old photo's of you wearing stuff that you wear now, I wanna see 'em! I hope these ridiculous photo's of me cheesing entertained you for a bit.

Happy Friday!

LAYERED LADY

I can't express to you how COLD it is in New England right now (at least for CT!). Negative digits during the day is typically unheard of for our area. Maybe some of you are suffering through the winter freeze along with me. If so, then I'm sure you're sick of wearing puffy jackets every day! When I get bored of my oversized black coat I layer, layer, layer. The best part about layering is it can totally conform and mesh to your personal style. I love flannels, denim, and black. I'm always sure to buy a super nice wool blend or heavy cotton button up. I've layered a super soft flannel with a thick chamois and wool blend moto jacket. This way I'm able to play up patterns, colors and textures while still keeping warm. To top it all off I have my favorite cabbage rose Docs to keep my feet from getting full of snow! As much as I complain about the cold, I really do love winter.

Outfit Details:

Jacket- MinkPink
Chamois- LL Bean
Flannel- LL Bean
Knee Highs- Urban Outfitters
Necklace- Forever 21
Boots- Doc Martens
