FESTIVE FALL

I adore fall for all its rusted colors, and this skirt speaks volume in that category. This skirt is special to me because it is from my aunt. It was passed along to me and I love it so much not only for the color, but also because of the sentimental value! Knowing that she wore this same garment when she was around my age gets me thinking about all the adventures and outfits that she had while wearing it. It was perfect for this cloudy day while hanging around Yale. So much love for all the old charm! Also, I got to make some homemade pumpkin granola today too. I felt extremely festive and glad! Here's a final result of the yummy fall baking:

PASTEL GARDENS

It's finally Friday! Although Amy and I typically bring you a Feature Friday, we wanted to focus on building our Modcloth storyboard this week, so we will bring you a lovely featured post next friday :) I bring to you a simple outfit that I wore the other day while it was still pretty chilly out. I wanted the focus to be on the pastel, soft garden flowers and pieced my gold compass necklace and mustard yellow sweater with it to accent the colors. I layered my light brown sweater over this look to tone down the loud gold tones, but still let them shine. I also got to witness my first signs of spring in New Haven with these budding beauties!

WARMTH OF WINTER

Before heading to VT this past weekend, I got to experience the promise of Spring (I know it will eventually get here!). With more snow on the way later this week, I was so excited to go outside before the next storm and be comfortable without a jacket, scarf or gloves! I decided to layer one of my favorite sweaters with a dress that I've had for a while now. To top it all off I wore the necklace that Amy's good friend Nicole made for me! She's seriously the sweetest, and I adore this necklace.

STRIPES AND SPIKES

I'm officially over this snow and winter weather. I just want to walk outside in a dress without tights or a coat and feel warm! For now, though, the layering continues. Today I mixed cheetah print and stripes, a combo I'm crazy about. It's interesting but not too over the top. Instead of doing denim (because when do I ever) I chose to do a simply skater skirt and my faux thigh high socks that never fail me. Oh, and the spikes on the shoulder of this cardigan are just bad-ass.

WINTER WOLVES

Hi guys! Yesterday was one of the warmer days here in CT (45 degrees, ha!) so Annalise and I headed out to take some outfit photos. 

When I scored these velvet leggings on sale at work I couldn't wait to wear them. Not only are they cute, but they're super warm which is a huge plus given the season. I paired them with this long sheer button up that I also wore in this post, styled a bit different. I love having pieces that I can wear multiple ways. Layered with one of my favorite wolf tee's, I was comfortable and felt cute. It was even warm enough for me to wear one of my favorite leather moto jackets.

LAYERED LADY

I can't express to you how COLD it is in New England right now (at least for CT!). Negative digits during the day is typically unheard of for our area. Maybe some of you are suffering through the winter freeze along with me. If so, then I'm sure you're sick of wearing puffy jackets every day! When I get bored of my oversized black coat I layer, layer, layer. The best part about layering is it can totally conform and mesh to your personal style. I love flannels, denim, and black. I'm always sure to buy a super nice wool blend or heavy cotton button up. I've layered a super soft flannel with a thick chamois and wool blend moto jacket. This way I'm able to play up patterns, colors and textures while still keeping warm. To top it all off I have my favorite cabbage rose Docs to keep my feet from getting full of snow! As much as I complain about the cold, I really do love winter.
